Read moreDo you learn grammar structure by heart?
Learning by heart grammar structure is not interesting. Since learning any subject requires patience and interest, its difficult for people to learn something and to have patience if they do not enjoy the subject or the learning process. Depending on people’s interest, they can choose the method which is most suitable for them.
With people who enjoy reading, they can learn grammar by reading any article, novel, story, and so on and this will help a lot. We can remember the sentences, the words and grammatical structure easier because we like it and we usually have had general information about the books, the authors, the news, etc. of what we have read. For example, I used to read some stories such as Black Beauty, Uncle Tom’s cabin in Vietnamese so I found the English quite familiar and easy to remember the new words. The more we read, the more we remember.
In addition, when we like something, we usually share with someone else so we can use the words as well as grammar structures we have learned from the publication.
For people who enjoy communicating with others, or practical oral, they can learn one pattern of sentence (or more, it is up to you ^^) for each day, and change the words in that sentence. For instance, Did you have breakfast? We can find other words relating to breakfast such as lunch, dinner, supper,…
Then we can subtitute them into that model:
- Did you have lunch/dinner/supper/ a cup of coffee/ a glass of milk/ something to eat…?
On the other hand, we can find an online native friend or your English classmate to talk or to ask. It means we practice. This way is more active and amusing because we can practice together and learn from each other. Besides, you can find out each person has his own answer.
There are many ways to study grammar. Everyone can be better if he keeps patient to study it. Set a plan, target and make sure that you will follow them.
